MATTHEW 25:34-40
Jesus said:
“Then the King will say to those on His right hand,
‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
I was a stranger and
you took Me in;
36I was naked and you
clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’"
37“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying,
‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You,
or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You
a stranger and take You in,
or naked and clothe You?
39Or when did we see
You sick, or in prison,
and come to You?’
40And the King will answer and say to them,
‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to
one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’"

TMEW in Andhra Pradesh, India:
John and Susan Townsend, MATTHEW 25:34-40 Ministries, spent five weeks in India visiting their two missions in Andhra Pradesh (South-Central and Eastern India). The Full Gospel Outreach Ministries (FGO), a ministry of Matthew 25:34-40, is located in the Guntur District and has been using "The Most Excellent Way" Ministry Leader's Manual as part of their pastoral leadership program for the past five or so years.
FGO Pastor David Wilson translated the Manual into the native Telugu language. Pastor Wilson has overseen the development of over 60 pastors in the past eight years, and has taught all of them to use the TMEW Manual as a leadership guide. More than 8000 people are being discipled under his guidance. In addition, he has made the Manual available to over 400 pastors working in that District.
Pastor Wilson noted, “We don't have any meetings specifically for addicts. Addictions are so common that all of our congregations act as meetings. Jesus Christ delivers everyone from addictions, so we make sure that people know Jesus as their Lord.”
Kerusso Ministries in the West Godavari District received the Manual in early 2009 from Pastor Wilson, and is just beginning to use the Manual among its 16 pastors. Kerusso Pastor Charles Finney said that he did not initially see the benefit of the Manual, but some of his young pastors simply sat down and read it, followed the instructions, and immediately saw benefits in their small house church congregations.
Pastor Prasad Kamala of Kerusso says, “We did not think of having discussions during our worship services until we received the Program Manual. Now we see the value of having discussion time in our smaller congregations. The Ministry Manual concepts help our new pastors work more effectively in discipleship. The 10 Attitudes are very valuable to us. Together with the 30 Discipleship Lessons you have provided, these teachings help to keep our people faithful to Jesus when they are tempted to fall back into Hindu practices. We also find the Scripture Topics in the Manual are very helpful for our young pastors.”
All the pastors agree that the rapid discipleship of new believers into the central doctrines of Christianity is essential in India. The direct benefit of this discipleship is the deliverance of people from their addictions and many other sins.
There is great poverty among the people, but the hope of Jesus Christ has made many of these people richer in spirit than many of their brothers and sisters in the United States.
