"What We Believe"
WE BELIEVE the Bible is God’s infallible word, and it is the final authority on
all issues concerning our lives and “The Most Excellent Way.”
WE BELIEVE the Bible says alcohol and drug addiction are sin, not disease. Therefore, the issue of sin and separation from God are dealt with as the root of all addiction problems.
WE BELIEVE there is only one way to be reconciled to God and experience total victory over the sins of addiction: “Ye must be born again” John 3:7, by the Spirit of God. That occurs when we ask Jesus Christ to become our personal Lord and Savior.
WE BELIEVE once “born again,” we are empowered by the Spirit of God to overcome any sin, including addictions.
WE BELIEVE lasting and permanent victory over the sin of addiction occurs when we deny our own will, and begin to willingly surrender our lives to the perfect will of God on a daily basis.
WE BELIEVE, and place great emphasis, on teaching and instruction from the Word of God as led by His Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE knowing God’s truths protects us from false ideas and doctrines present in the world. Jesus said: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32 NKJV.
What Is God's Plan For Your Life?
The Gospel
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
12Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
13You will seek Me and find Me when you seek
me with all your heart.
14I will be found by you,” declares the LORD,
“and will bring you back from captivity.”
~JEREMIAH 29:11-14 NIV
Addiction: Sin? Disease?
Recovery is a medical term and is limited to the physical/material body (the flesh). Recovery is what we do for ourselves — working hard to abstain from addictive behavior.
Sanctification is what God (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) does for us — helping us to abstain from sin. God is preparing our immortal souls for eternity with Him.
Are you in recovery or in Jesus?
Are you following the crowd or are you following Jesus?
Are you being conformed into the image and likeness of Jesus?
What can uneducated people do if they don’t agree with so-called scientific conclusions about a given topic? Research! Scientific study is research. Scientists are researchers. I’m not a scientist, but I’m going to attempt to “scientifically research and analyze” my drinking problem using the basic procedure high-school science students are taught:
1. Observe – check out the question or problem.
2. Predict – hypothesize (make a good guess).
3. Experiment – is my guess correct?
4. Conclude – put the pieces together to figure out what’s really going on.
Even within the "scientific community", there is no consensus (conclusion) that drug addiction is a disease. ...

Our Hope Is In Him!
9
“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your HOPE in God, for I will yet praise Him my Savior and my God.”
~ Psalms 42:11
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 15:13
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11
The Indispensable Holy Spirit
The following Scripture passages show us what an important role the Holy Spirit has in our daily lives. When Jesus was about to leave the disciples, He told them He would remain with them. How could this be? The Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Spirit of Truth — the Spirit of God Himself — would come to care for and guide the disciples after Jesus was gone. The Holy Spirit is a powerful person on our side, working for and with us. See John 14:15-31.
• The Holy Spirit is the very presence of God within us. By faith ,,,
“The Most Excellent Way” is to:
• Be reconciled to God through Jesus.
• Grow in faith and knowledge of Christ.
• Gain a better understanding of the sin nature that leads to addiction and obsessive, self-centered behavior.
• Learn and apply Biblical principles for living joy-filled, productive lives.
• Provide support to those who desire freedom from drug and alcohol dependency, and self-centered behavior.
• Pray for one another.
• Love one another.
"Ye Must Be Born Again!"
“The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand
them because they are spiritually discerned.”
~ I Corinthians 2:14 NIV
“God is spirit, and His worshippers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
~John 4:24 NIV
Jesus said: “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’”
~John 3:6-7 NIV
